The Web Concert Hall International Competition

The purpose of International Web Concert Hall Audition is to promote and advance the careers of gifted artists internationally, not only by broadcasting the performance of winners on the Web Concert Hall but also by promoting them to various managers and institutions. Thus the awards include not only performance presentations at the Web Concert Hall during the season, but also promoting the winners directly. Thus through via the Internet, direct Web performance announcement to over 50 major artist management companies, services, and classical music related organizations and associations in the U.S. will be made during the concert promotion year; and the press-release of winners' interview in MusicalOnline magazine. Each basic award is worth a minimum of $31,500 US dollars in terms of the publicity, staff time, and broadcast time. It may, of course, be worth far more, in terms of exposure to the managers and other music professionals.

The International Web Concert Hall Audition is organized by MusicalOnline.com and sponsored by Intrepid Pixels Technology Inc. The competition is conducted via recorded submission of live concert or recorded in a recording studio or equivalent in CD, Cassette Tape, or DAT format from the contestants and is open to all instrumentalists and chamber ensembles, with no age, place of residence, or other restrictions on who could enter. The Web Concert Hall is a non-profit organization dedicated to discovering extraordinary musicians, then, via Internet technology, promoting and presenting them to a broader audience than has ever before been possible.

"The International Web Concert Hall Audition is the first of its kind in classical music to hold such events at the global level. And we are proud to do so now that technology has advanced enough to be useful in such support of classical music," said Dr. Mi Jung Im, music director of the Web Concert Hall. "Therefore, it is our pleasure to announce that based on the overwhelming number of participants and the quality of performance level it has drawn to the audition, MusicalOnline.com and Intrepid Pixels Technology Inc. have decided to hold the audition annually, thereby extending indefinitely the discovery and promotion exceptional new artists."
