The 10th INTERNATIONAL WEB CONCERT HALL COMPETITION

Purpose

To promote and advance the careers of artists of all ages internationally by broadcasting their performance on the Web Concert Hall and announcing their achievements to selected management companies in the United States of America.

Eligibility

The audition is extended to all solo instrumentalists and chamber ensembles without restriction of nationality and age.

Deadline (application available at the bottom of this page)

  • December 12th, 2008 (Postmark date: mail in before or on this date)

  • Jury Review:  Application screening and First elimination begins January 10th, 2009

  • Second round: 1st week of Feb.

  • Final round: 3rd week of Feb

  • The winner(s) will be announced in the Webconcerthall.com in the 4th week of February 2009.

*Awards (*The number of winners in each category will be determined upon the applicant’s performance level of that year)

  • World Wide Web broadcast of performance during the 2009 (mid March) - 2010 season;

  • The Web Concert Hall artist series presentation - Web broadcast of next 3 years;

  • Announcing and notifying the winners directly to 30+ selected artist management companies in the US;

  • Announcing and notifying the winners directly to local and international newspapers and e-News;

  • Selected finalists' performances may be broacasted in the Web concert hall and will be archived for the public for the

    next two or more years;

  • Winners will have an opportunity to submit additional recordings of their performances throughout the next 2 years.

Rules

·     The audition will be strictly based on CD submission. Submitted recording(s) of performances can be either live or studio recorded performances or mixture.  Do not send video or master tapes. Poor quality recording or damaged CD will be disqualified.

·      The winners will be announced in the 4th week of February on the World Wide Web (www.webconcerthall.com) and winners will be notified via email before the world wide web publication date;

·      Only the repertoire that was submitted will be broadcast on the Web Concert Hall;

·      All contestants must submit a signed letter stating that the Web Concert Hall may legally broadcast the performance of all submitted performance (this will be stated in the application);

 

·      Applicant may submit up to 40 min or less. of performance per entry (i.e., one or more pieces up to 40 min. per application). If sonata or concerto is submitted by the applicant, entire work will be broadcast on the Web;

·      Multiple entries from the same applicant may be submitted. For example, you may enter as a soloist and as a member of chamber group.

·         No submitted item(s) will be returned to the sender(s);

·         All decisions will be final and there will be no re-appeal on the final decision;

·         There will be NO cash award.

·         Web Concert Hall is not responsible for any lost or damaged submitted material.

·        As we receive material from each applicant, we will confirm received material to the applicant via email.

2. Typed or clearly print application form.

3. Submit typed biography (200 to 400 words for the press release purpose) or submit the bio via email (webconcerthall@usa.com) and indicate your name in the Subject.

4.   High-quality recorded performance on CD. Max. duration: 40  min. (No specific repertoire requirement)

 

5.   One or more photos (color or B&W - any size: preferably 5x7 or 8x10) that is suitable for publicity purposes. - you may send the photos via email, if you prefer: webconcerthall@usa.com

Each award is worth a minimum of $20K USD in terms of the publicity, broadcast time, and staff hours. The award may be worth far more in terms of exposure to the managers and other music professionals.

I understand that no item(s) will be returned to the sender and Web Concert Hall is not responsible for any lost or damaged items. All decision is final and I understand that the decision of the jury can not be challenged after the announcement has been made by the jury members. The submitted performance will be broadcast on the Web Concert Hall (www.webconcerthall.com) at the Webconcerthall's discretion and I have full authority and have cleared any legal issues concerning the copyrights of submitted recording / material to the Web Concert Hall. I further understand that submitted photos and promotional material may be published in a digital format or hardcopy to be distributed for the promotion of the competition or/and of the Web Concert Hall publications for the promotion of education purposes. I further acknowledge that all information submitted to the Web Concert Hall is true to best of my knowledge and I further stat that the submission of recording to the Webconcerthall is my own performance and I have cleared all copyrighted and legal issues that are related to broadcasting and publishing submitted material to and broadcasting from the Web Concert Hall.
