Competition
Denis Shapovalov won recognition for
his exceptional gift at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition (1998), taking the 1st
prize and a gold medal as the unanimous choice of the jury. With this victory he confirmed
his excellent talent, which had been marked with a special award "Best Hope"
given to him at the International Chamber Music Competition in Australia 3 years before.
