Christophor Miroshnikov - Cello (Russia-Greece)
The Winner (Honorary
Mention) of 2001 International Web
Concert Hall Competition
After Christophors concert
tour in France, the critics wrote, "... Christophor Miroshnikov, despite his
youth, has amazing technical and interpretive abilities..."
Soon
thereafter he was awarded first prize at the Schadt String Competition in March 1998, and
was aclaimed by both the audience and the critics. Lorne Monroe, a jury member at the
competition, said, "It was difficult, but the winners
intonation was so secure, so reliable, I didnt see how anyone could beat that." Nathaniel Rosen added, "He gave a totally dominating
performance of an enormous work (Prokofievs Symphony-Concerto), and he did it with
great variety and great courage." (cited in The Morning
Call).
